When to start feeding Derm Complete:
Always consult a veterinarian before changing your pets diet. Allergy management is often a complex process and therefore needs a plan set out by a veterinarian. This is a prescription diet and therefore has to be recommended/prescribed by your veterinarian.
Should your veterinarian have recommended Derm Complete the following is important to remember:
-It is not an instant fix. Results will only show after a food trial of 3 months minimum, improvements will generally show after 28 days but can take longer in certain pets.
-A gradual transition of 7 days is needed to ensure there isn’t any gastric upset that can influence the trial results and recovery of treated condition(s).
-Only the prescribed food can be fed (kibble and canned/soft food), no table food or snacks must be fed to ensure optimal results. This is extremely crucial during food trials and treatments.
-The food already has additives and supplements in, eliminating the need for extra/external supplements during the trial.
-Other household members need to be made aware of your pet’s food trial and instructed on not feeding them anything other than their prescribed diet.
-An allergy screening panel, done by your veterinarian, can be done to ensure there are no egg allergies that will influence results.
